USB mode is fully offline — the phone and PC talk over the Lightning / USB-C cable through Apple Mobile Device Service. Wi-Fi mode requires both devices on the same local network, but no internet access is needed.
Apple doesn't offer a trial mechanism for paid apps. The App Store refund policy applies if Camly doesn't work in your setup.
Yes. Camly installs a DirectShow virtual camera on Windows, which is the standard interface that Zoom, Teams, Google Meet, OBS, Discord, and every modern browser use. It appears as "Camly" in the camera list.
